I am Marisa De Lisle, a mother of two beautiful children, a wife, Doctor of Chiropractic, constant learner, and a lover of functional nutrition and stress-reduction techniques. I love finding balance and joy in a world that serves up constant stress and worry.
I studied Human Development at Syracuse University and Exercise Science at the University of Massachusetts. I continued my education at Life Chiropractic College West, where I obtained a degree in Chiropractic and have been a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic since 2001.
I have always had a deep passion for learning about the human body from a physical, chemical and emotional level. Lifestyle choices, including nutrition and exercise, have the power to improve, restore and maintain health. At the same time, poor nutrition and exercise choices can contribute to stress, systemic inflammation, pain and varying levels of metabolic dis-ease.
I have spent the last 30 years learning how to recognize and nourish the healing powers of my body. From my education and life experience, I have created a daily rhythm that has allowed me to easily navigate the world of nutrition and exercise. Instead of feeling overwhelmed and stressed, I have found the recipe to feeling calm and confident. I focus on the simplicity of certain daily habits. For me, having a healthy mind and body is foundational to my life and I build upon these concepts each day.
Over the past few years in my clinical practice, I have observed a concerning trend in my community. People are experiencing increased levels of pain and inflammation due to metabolic imbalances, including blood sugar dysregulation, systemic inflammation, weight gain, hormone imbalances and constant daily stress. These stressors lead to a negative cycle that can compound their experience of pain, inflammation, brain fog and general fatigue.
When people find themselves stuck in this negative cycle, they are at higher risk of poor metabolic health and various states of dis-ease. Seeing this trend more and more among people, and having a deep sense of compassion for those around me, I felt compelled to share the powerful information that I have learned over the years. I created Your Optimal Life Metabolic Health Coaching to help guide people towards greater lifestyle balance so they can experience greater levels of health.
I have shifted from my clinical work as a chiropractor into the space of functional nutrition counseling and metabolic health coaching. My mission is to coach, educate, and empower busy individuals, helping them interrupt the cycle of poor health. I guide my clients through the often overwhelming road of health imbalances so they can regain function and vitality through nutrition and lifestyle coaching.
I provide tools that help people feel confident about food choices, exercise and their day-to-day rhythm, allowing them to take control of their health. When individuals feel and function optimally, they are capable of experiencing the life they truly deserve. Their MOST Optimal Life!
